YOUTH MINISTER / COORDINATOR OF YOUTH MINISTRIES

The Minister of Youth/Coordinator of Youth Ministries is primarily responsible for leading the United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) and coordinating and planning projects necessary to the development of educational ministry with youth. This position reports to the Senior Pastor and is supported by the Youth Council and the Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC).
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
· specifically responsible for the UMYF program, which includes Sunday classes, evening fellowship, and special programs.
· develop, coordinate, and teach Middle School /High School outreach ministries.
· dedicate approximately 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year to the Spiritual nurturing of our youth
· develop special programs for youth such as retreats, fun nights, recreation activities, service activities, educational trips, youth seminars, camps, etc.
· coordinate with existing Sunday School Superintendent on all youth education.
· administrative duties include correspondences, recruiting youth not participating, ordering materials and supplies, and at times performing various duties and tasks not specifically noted above in accordance with the needs of the youth and church.
BA preferred, minimum 2 years’ experience in Youth Ministry and/or Christian Education required.
