3-27-20 - Weddings and Funerals during Health Emergencies
Weddings and Funeral Policy- Fisk Memorial United Methodist Church, Natick, MA
During COVID19 & Other health emergencies
As Christians, we gather to worship, celebrate life and mourn the dead in ministry; most of all, to proclaim the hope of Resurrection which is essential to our faith. During the extraordinary circumstances of the COVID19 outbreak, our usual rituals have been interrupted and disruption is difficult for everyone.
At this time, the Governor Charlie Baker and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) have declared a State of Emergency and made some recommendations to keep us safe and healthy by limiting the number of persons at gatherings.
Hence, until the State of Emergency is lifted for Massachusetts, we are limited in our funeral and wedding practices. As follows:
There will be no in person contact. Therefore we are not able to accommodate a wake, funeral or wedding at this time. Please contact the pastor at 671-966-7048 for consultation, prayers and spiritual guidance during this time. We deeply care about all our brothers and sister during this crisis and beyond. And because the risk of spreading the virus is high, we will work with each family to consider postposing, rescheduling all events for a later date when we are able to be present in person with each other.
While we are limited in what we are able to host at this time, we are available to plan and support you for memorials, weddings and visitations after the pandemic has passed, and when we can safely gather to celebrate lives, and remember lives that were lost.
Thanks for your gracious understanding as we continue to pray for health and healing for all persons
