Prayer Shawls & Lap Blankets for MetroWest Medical Center
God’s grace be upon this shawl:
Warming, comforting and embracing.
May this mantle be a safe haven:
A witness to the sacred touch of God’s secure love
and our well-being.
Sustaining and embracing in good times as
well as in difficult ones.
May the one who receives this shawl,
Be cradled in hope, kept in peace
and wrapped in love. Amen

4-12-2020 Praise at the Cross
Seeking and sharing God’s message of love and praise at the cross, Fisk UMC Church in Natick installed a large cross on the front lawn of the church to invite and inspire passersby to ponder its message. The cross, which was draped in purple throughout the holy season of Lent, has now been draped in white for Easter and is surrounded by flowers of the season including Easter lilies, forsythia, and tulips.
Benches on the lawn invite the community to come to the cross, while supporting the physical distancing recommendation for our community. Throughout Lent, the messages in front of the cross changed each week and invited all to seek Pardon at the Cross and Pray at the Cross. Many people have paused for a few moments or a few minutes to rest and to reflect.
The cross on the lawn has been a special blessing this year, as a tangible message for all in our church and in our community.
Pastor Alecia Reeves-Freeman reminds us, “The Cross of Jesus Christ is always open to seekers, and the Cross on the Lawn is always open as well.”

3-22-2020 - Weekly Sunday Devotional via conference call
Here's an update about our call-in devotional. We hope you join us next week.
Comment about 3-22-20 : "This morning, I went to church. At 10:30 a.m., I heard the voice and spirit with Pastor Alecia. As Diane's voice came through, and the Holy Spirit lifted us in song, I heard Winnie's voice come through on the phone - she got on! Then Barb, Dorothy, Tom, Amy, and more reading God's word. Then - Pastor in the Pulpit. Then - Pastor guiding us through prayer. The voices - normal. The voices that the deepest part of me, that my heart knows, and it is that knowing that gives me immeasurable strength in the gifts that God has given me - each of you. I learned a long time ago that God never gets tired of blessing us, and that he never gets pooped out when we praise him. This morning, all of the prep to make this happen, to the actuality of church in a different way, I thank you. Yup. Definitely a gift from God." DH

3-16-2020 - regarding building use and Sunday Services through April 5, 2020
In support of community efforts to reduce social interaction, Fisk has made the tough decision to cancel worship services on March 22, March 29 and April 5, 2020. This includes our Sunday School hour and also the planned Thursday Soup and Scripture times during Lent.
In addition, we have closed our building to outside user groups so that we may follow CDC directives to reduce social interaction. These decisions were painful but necessary.
As a community of faith, we continue to offer prayers for those impacted by illness, isolation and inconvenience due to cancellations. We fully trust God is helping His people here on Earth to come together and win a victory over the COVID-19.
We remain connected - if you need assistance of any kind, please contact our office at 508-653-1674.

3-13-20 - regarding Sunday March 15, 2020 Sunday Services & Sunday School
Our community and country, and indeed the world, are working together to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. It is truly inspiring to watch us come together in common purpose.
We have all been advised that best way to reduce the spread of a virus is to reduce social interaction. In light of this the Pastor and the Fisk leadership team have decided to cancel Sunday Worship, Sunday School, Time for Spirited Kids adaptive service this week and encourage a Sunday of quiet devotion at home.
This cancellation will reduce our "social interaction" and help reduce the spread of infection. Please take this opportunity to check in with your fellow Fisk members to see if there is an unfilled need with which you might assist. Use the phone, email, and text messages. While we do not know of anyone who is sick, business closures and concern over public places can be quite an inconvenience.

Each Sunday's situation will be a separate decision. So we will watch with hope over the coming week.
Another thing we can all do is maintain our own health. So eat well, get enough sleep and exercise. We as individuals and a community can impact the situation. See you all soon.
